I’ve been balancing work and life…and life won (temporarily)!

Yesterday was Saturday and I decided to give my computer a break. Actually, the computer was fine - it was me who needed the break. Since I work full time during the school year (24 days to go…) I typically try to work a couple hours every single day of the summer, weekend or not. But yesterday I decided I would lay off. I did check e-mail twice, but I only wrote two work-related messages and I tried not to think of my ever-growing list of stuff to do.
Annoyingly enough, I managed to replace my work “to-do” list with a life “to-do” list, mostly involving sewing projects. Since I both know how to and like to sew I have a hard time buying things like curtains or slipcovers or even blouses, if I think I can make it myself. So on my “day off” I came up with a list of projects to work on during my fleeting 24 days left.
I tend to get more done if I have a lot to do. For whatever reason, two things on the list will take all day…but 8 things on the list will take half a day. Good thing, because I have way more than 8 things on the list these days. What does that say about me? I tried to Google “personality types and too much to do” but apparently those weren’t very good search terms b/c I didn’t get much besides links to Myers-Briggs type personality analysis, and I don’t think that’s relevant.
What does it say about a person that she thrives under pressure?
According to this article, it means I’m a Queen Bee. Bzz.
Queen Bees take charge! Bzzy bzz bzz!
Here’s a blog entry that describes a book about entrepreneurs that breaks them down into 5 categories: idealists, optimizers, hard workers, jugglers, and sustainers. I think I’m all 5, actually. Some days more of an idealist than a hard worker, some days more of a juggler than an optimizer…read the blog entry. What kind of entrepreneur are you?
